speaking at (salford) chapel street business group seminar

Whether you have a website, are thinking of building one, or just want to find out more...

Join us on 28 February 2006 from 6 - 7.30pm at The Harold Riley Suite, University House, University of Salford.

This not-to-be-missed event promises 90 minutes of no-nonsense advice on all aspects of making your website stand out from the crowd.

With only 30 places available book now!

As a business you probably know that feeling... years of being told that you need your own website, countless sums of money spent on building the website and infinitely more hours spent wondering exactly what that website is doing for you.

Well, help is at hand as the Chapel Street Business Group have brought together a team of experts that will help you make the most of your website and put you on the road to staying one step ahead.

The event is free to attend and will cover the following topics:

Accessibility

Patrick Lauke, web editor at the University of Salford will tackle the increasingly important issue of web accessibility and the massive impact it can have on your business website. Patrick is a member of the Web Standard Project's Accessibility Task Force, runs his own design consultancy and in his own words is "an opinionated guy eager to find real world solutions where the rubber meets the road".

Getting found on the search engines

Alex Fenton, web designer for AE Interactive will give you easy hints and tips on how to make your web pages stand put from the 11.5 billion others that are already out there. Alex has developed websites professionally for over 10 years and has recently done extensive research into the fields of search engine optimisation.

Design credibility

Michael Hodgkinson of Avocado Design, one of the region's leading creative design houses, will cover all the things that work and plenty that don't when you're thinking about the design elements you want on your website. From colours to layout to navigational features, learn about what makes people love or loathe the sites they visit.

The future

Mike Ryan from Idaho Technologies will round the evening off with a fascinating look into how the internet and web technologies will have transformed our offices and workspaces by 2010. If you're fed up with always being the last to know this is the ideal opportunity to keep one step ahead from a man whose "predictions are normally 80% correct"!

Grill the experts

Your chance to ask the questions that are important to you and your business, as the panellists will be taking questions from the floor.
