While co-authoring a book about the CSS Zen Garden with its creator and cultivator Dave Shea, I had the wonderful opportunity to interact with many of the contributing designers and learn of their process and techniques. Some of my favorite examples include Patrick H. Lauke's Door to My Garden, where the textured areas are actually from scanned metal pieces found just outside Lauke's office.
