the Zen of CSS design

i finally received my complimentary copy of The Zen of CSS design.

pleasantly surprised by the format: rather than make up some hypothetical design to demonstrate each style rule, this book starts from finished pieces of work (and yes, among them my very own door to my garden on page 224) and proceeds to deconstruct their stylesheets, explaining the specific CSS along the way.

part showcase, part case study, this is an excellent resource for beginners - who will hopefully be drawn in by the nice examples of work presented - and intermediate users - who can read up on the designers' philosophy and approach, and get an in-depth explanation of some of the more advanced CSS techniques used.

once again, thanks Dave and Molly for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this.
