The tabs are too long, don't fit in the width of the browser, and begin to wrap to the next line...sometimes even in the middle of the tab itself, breaking it up over two lines.
Adding white-space:nowrap; (initially only intended to prevent the breaking apart of single tabs) seems to fix this for most current browsers.
